Entry Procedure:

ASSA Coaches must submit entries through the ASSA web site.


 

Scoring:

Ribbons to 6th place.

Best time tokens will be handed out for swimmers to take to the best time table.

Age group aggregate winners will receive medallions for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Points are awarded as follows:

Top six (6) places - Individual Events:  7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points

                             - Relay Events:  14, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2

All awards will be handed to the coaches at the next meet.


 

Awards:

The top three male and top three female swimmers belonging to each ASSA age group who accumulated the most points based on their individual event swims shall receive a Gold (1st Place), Silver (2nd Place) and Bronze (3rd Place) Medals.


 

Warm Up Information:

The SNC Warm Up protocol will be in effect and will be posted around the pool.

Warm up lanes will be specifically assigned and will be determined by team entries.  Lane assignments will be posted around the pool.

Warm ups will be 25 minutes long in all sessions.  Please be courteous to everyone and get in/out of the water on time.

The last 5 minutes of the warm-up will be dive starts and one directional swimming.

Coaches are responsible for providing supervision of their swimmers throughout the entire warm up period.

The smaller pool may be used for warm up and cool down thoughout the meet provided that there is a Safelty Marshall on deck.  Abuse of this will result in this perk taken away.

 Friday Warm ups start at 4:45 PM

Meet starts at 5:30 PM

Saturday Warm ups start at 7:30 AM

Meet starts at 8:30 AM


 

Seeding:

Events will be seeded via senior seeding. Swimmers with no time will be randomly seeded in the slowest heats.


 

Coaches Meeting:

The coaches meeting will be held 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of warm up.


 

Deck Entries:

Deck entries will be permitted provided they do not require the addition of another heat. Deck entries will be seeded into empty lanes in existing heats.

Please submit your entries no later than Tuesday, June 19th, 2018 by 9:00pm.

Swimmers may enter up to 4 individual events and 2 relays.  Relays will be run only if time permits.

Relay entries that need to be altered need be at the electronics table no later than 9:00am on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Please make sure your relay swimmers are attending the meet!

Scratches must be submitted no later than Thursday, June 21 at 8:00pm tp qualify for a full refund.

Late scratches must be received by the coaches during the appropriate warm up times on the forms provided.

Coach and official heat sheets will be created after your scratches.  Please make every effort to scratch before the meet starts.  Emailed scratches are welcome anytime before the meet at meet.manager@okotoksstingrays.com

The meet can not start until all the scratches are processed and the official timer sheets are printed.


 

Scratch Rules/Penalties:

Scratches should be submitted to the Clerk of Course at the beginning of the meet. Scratches can be submitted up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet. There are no financial penalties for swimmers who 'No Show' for their event.


 

Relay Changes:

Relay Changes shall be submitted no later than 9:00am June 23, 2018.


 

Appeals and Concerns:

Only coaches may lodge a protest or address issues with the officials or the meet manager.

Please speak witht the referee or the meet manager first as they may eliminate the need for a written protest.

Protests must be submitted in WRITING to the MEET REFEREE within 30 minutes followoing the event along with $50 fee that will be refunded only if the protest is upheld.  The cheque should be made payable to "Okotoks Stingrays Summer Swim Club".  The protest must include the swimmers name, club name, event and heat number and a brief description and reason for the protest.


 

General Information and Expect:

Clubs are responsible for providing adult supervision for their swimmers at ALL TIMES.

Please assign a parent chaperone to your curling rink area.  Please do not use balls, hockey/lacrosse equipment, ride on toys (ie. scooters) inside the facility.  Please remember to keep the fire exits clear in the curling rink.

All clubs are responcilbe for cleaning their area at the end of the day.

Parents are reminded to speak to their coaches if there is an issue reguarding the meet.  Officials and meet volunteers will only deal with items brought forward by the coaches.

Heat sheets WILL be for sale.  We will also be using meet manager app.

There will be a raffle table this year

No one other than officials, coaches and swimmers are allowed on deck.  Please have swimmers exit the pool through the change rooms.

RELAYS MAY BE CANCELLED IF TIME DOES NOT PERMIT.

Officials:

As with any meet, officials will be required.  We would ask that each club supply officials proportionate to the number of swimmers attending.  We will be in contact with attending clubs prior to the meet in an attempt to fill most official spots prior to the meet.  Failing that, the list of outstanding official spots will be placed by the curling rink foyer on the day of the meet.  Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided for on deck and off deck officials.  This will be located in the curling rink foyer.

The Officials meet will be held in the curling rink foyer on Friday, June 22nd at 5:00pm and Saturday, June 23rd at 7:45am  Please be prepared to start your shifts at 5:20pm Friday and at 8:20am Saturday.  There will be no afternoon officials meeting so the afternoon officials should attend the morning meeting.

The officials will be changed over before or during the Free Relay.  Please listen to the annouuncements as the afternoon officials will eat before their session.

There will be no break!

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE AS DISPOSABLE ONES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. 

PLEASE NO GLASS ON DECK.


 

Rules:

This is an ASSA sanctioned meet and all ASSA & CSSA rules are in effect.

The events will follow the order on the attached event sheet.

The Hy-Tek program will be use to score the meet.

The Meet Manager has the right to alter, revise or cancel events to ensure the meet runs effectively and on time.

Swimmers are expected to report to the HEAD MARSHALL in the marshalling area when their event is announced.

All events will be timed finals.

The meet will be using overhead starts.  Please instruct your swimmers to stay in the water until the next heat has started.

If coaches anticipate that a Provincial Record may be set, please inform the Meet Referee at least 1 hour prior to the event.

SNC Rule book will be in effect.

The FINA start will be used.

Each club must ensure that only ASSA registered swimmers are entered.  The Meet Manager may request coaches to produce proof of registration for any and all swimmers.

In order to enter 7&8 long breaststroke, the swimmer must have a short breast time under 45 seconds.

Please be cautious about entering your 6&Under swimmers in long breaststroke!! Make sure your swimmers are able to swim this event.

To enter the 6&Under and 7&8 long back and long free, the swimmer must have a qualifying time under 45 seconds of the corresponding short event.
