Qualification:

All swimmers must be registered with ASSA.


 

Entry Procedure:

ASSA Coaches must submit entries through the ASSA web site.


 

Seeding:

Events will be seeded slowest to fastest heats. Swimmers with no time will be randomly seeded in the slowest heats.


 

Awards:

The top three male and top three female swimmers belonging to each ASSA age group who accumulated the most points based on their individual event swims shall receive a Gold (1st Place), Silver (2nd Place) and Bronze (3rd Place) Medals.

Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place for individual and relays.

Awards will be placed in envelopes for each Club and given to Coaches at the next Region E meet.


 

Coaches Meeting:

The coaches meeting will be held at 7:20 am in the Marshalling Room on the pool deck.

 

***Please ensure every Coach has a reusable water bottle as bottled water will not be provided. We will have a water filling station only***


 

Deck Entries:

Deck entries will be permitted provided they do not require the addition of another heat. Entries will be seeded into empty lanes in existing heats. Deck entries must be received by 7:30 am following the Coaches meeting.

Eight lane pool

There is a seating area at the end of the East hall way. Totem 1 arena will be available for the swimmers as a day area. Due to safety concerns, no wheeled toys or balls will be allowed in the arena. Please ensure your area is kept clean and swimmers are supervised.

Swimmers will be marshalled onto the pool deck from the East Party Room and must exit the pool after their events through the change rooms.

Meet Program:

This is an ASSA sanctioned meet and all ASSA & CSSA rules are in effect.

SNC Rule Book will be in effect. FINA start will be used.

All events will be timed finals.

The events will follow the order on the attached event list. All 6 & U swimmers can enter 25 Free, Back and Breast.

We will be using the Hy-tek program to score the meet.

The meet will be seeded slowest to fastest heats. All individual events will be senior seeded per ASSA standard senior seeding format. Results and points will be posted per age group.

Swimmers are expected to go to the Head Marshall in the marshalling area when their event is announced.

The Meet Manager has the right to alter, revise or cancel events to ensure the meet runs effectively.


 

Officials Notes:

Officials meeting will be held in the breakfast/lunch room at 7:40 am (for both am and pm shifts - there will be NO afternoon officials meeting). Please be on deck prepared to work your shift by 8:25 am (am shift) or 12:55 pm (pm shift).

We require each Club to provide at least 3 officials for both the am and pm sessions to help run the meet. Please send your list of Officials and position requests to Mia Kruger (miakrug@gmail.com) by Monday, May 21, 2018. Positions will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so get your requests in early if your volunteers are hoping to fill a specific Role. Please also advise if this is the first time volunteers are doing the position.

Lunch, refreshments and snacks will be provided for all Officials.

****Please ensure every volunteer brings their own water bottle as there will be no bottled water. We will have a filling station on deck and in the lunch room.****

 

There will be no lunch break of the meet is running late. Afternoon Officials will eat lunch starting at noon as they can be relieved. Morning Officials are the welcome to have lunch once their replacement has arrived.


 

Protests:

Only Coaches may lodge a protest or address issues with the Officials or the Meet Manager.

Please speak with the referee or Meet Manager first as this may eliminate the need for a written protest.

Protests must be submitted, in writing, to the Referee within 30 minutes of the end of the event. The protest must include the swimmer's name, Club name, event and heat number, description of the disqualification, rationale for the protest and a $25 fee (payable to the Cochrane Piranhas Summer Swim Club). The fee will only be refunded if the protest is upheld.


 

Relay Changes:

Relay Changes shall be submitted no later than thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of the morning session.

Scratch Rules/Penalties:

Scratches should be submitted to the Clerk of Course at the beginning of the meet. Scratches can be submitted up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. 


 

Warm Up Information:

Warm up lanes will be specifically assigned, to be determined by team entries. Lane assignments will be posted at the pool as well as emailed to the President of each Club by the evening of Thursday, May 24, 2018.

Warm up period is 20 minutes. The last 6 minutes of each warm up period will be used for dives/starts.

Please be courteous to everyone and get in and out of the water on time.

Coaches are responsible for providing supervision of their swimmers throughout the warm up period.

The Liesure Pool will be available to swimmers for cool down only. No swimmers will be allowed to spend an extended amount of time in the liesure pool or else they will be asked to leave the meet. All Coches need to be aware of the time their swimmers spend in this pool. Life gaurd staff will be enforcing time limits.
