General Accident Insurance
All current members of ASSA, through the annual club affiliation and swimmers registration fees, are automatically covered during the current swim season for regular season activities, training sessions, sanctioned swim meets and practices. Coverage is in effect as long as the member remains in good standing with ASSA/Swim Alberta.
To be insured for extra club activities, such as:
Barbeques
Fundraising events (bottle drives, etc.)
Parades
Year end parties
clubs MUST complete a Notice of Event - Insurance Request Form as these activities fall outside the normal day-to-day activities of a swim club and need approval of the insurance company to be covered. Events that include the sale or consumption of alcohol are not covered.
Please note
The Swim Alberta insurance policy is limited to coverage for swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers, actiong in an official capacity on behalf of a member club. Parents and siblings are not covered unless covered under the volunteer category, e.g. chaperone.
Requests for extra activities coverag must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the club event, to ensure proper processing.
Each Year, in May, every swim club is provided with a new Declaration Certificate - renewal date April 4.

Directors Liability Insurance
Directors Liability Insurance, provided through the annual affiliation, covers the following members:
ASSA elected Board of Directors
ASSA Club Executives & Directors
ASSA office staff
Only individuals identified in the affiliation/registration process, by the filling of a directors list, are covered under the Swim Alberta Directors Liability Insurance Policy. Any changes during the season to these lists must be provided to Swim Alberta through ASSA. It is the club's responsibility to keep this information up to date.
